Project Overview

The Ganga Expressway is a 594 km, 6-lane (expandable to 8-lane) expressway being built from Meerut to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. It will be one of India’s longest expressways upon completion and the longest in UP.

The project, being implemented by UPEIDA at a cost of ₹36,230 crore, passes through 12 districts including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj.

As of 2025, approximately 50% of construction is complete. The expressway will also feature an airstrip in Shahjahanpur district for defence purposes.
