The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway (DME) is India’s longest expressway at 1,386 km, designed as an 8-lane access-controlled highway connecting the national capital to India’s financial hub. The corridor passes through Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, traversing 12 districts and acting as the spine of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC).
The project is being implemented by NHAI in 52 packages. As of 2025, 67% of the corridor is complete, with sections in Haryana and Rajasthan fully operational. The remaining packages in MP and Maharashtra are expected to be complete by late 2025.
The expressway is projected to reduce Delhi–Mumbai travel time from 24 hours to under 12 hours and cut logistics costs by 30% for goods movement along this corridor.
